The Oven Mountain Pumped Hydro Project pays its respect to the Traditional Custodians of Country, their Elders—past and present, and acknowledges their ancestral connection to the land, seas, and waterways. The project honours the collective knowledge, experiences, cultures, and traditions of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who for thousands of years have shared and exchanged knowledge, nurtured, and loved Country for the benefit of all.

Engaging local people and local businesses

The Oven Mountain Pumped Hydro Project is committed to fostering genuine and meaningful opportunities for local and regional people, businesses, and communities.

In February 2023, OMPS and Industry Capability Network (ICN NSW) delivered the first round of industry briefing sessions in Kempsey and Armidale. The sessions offered local and regional companies a great opportunity to learn more about the project, understand the scope of anticipated works (including more than 80 work packages), and identify potential business opportunities. The event drew more than 150 attendees and saw more than 370 companies register their interest for work on the project.
